Five young men and their mothers pick a perfect bride title winner from ten competing young women - on a reality TV show.

The show debuts on STAR Plus TV Channel in India on September 12, 2009, and will be aired on weekdays at 10:30 PM and weekends at 10 PM.

The Indian version is hosted by Bollywood stars Megha Gupta and Vishal Malhotra, with Amrita Rao, Shekhar Suman and Mallaika Arora Khan as subject matter experts.

It is very doubtful if such a format will gain any traction in more liberal parts of the world like the United States, western Europe, where it would be strange for prospective mother-in-laws to pick brides for their sons! What do you think ?
