Director Sujit Guha's AKROSH Bangla film, starring Debashree Roy, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Victor Banerjee, Ranjit Mullick, Utpal Dutta, Gita Dey, Haradhan Bannerjee, Poonam Dasgupta, Satya Bannerjee, Shakuntala Barua, Subhendu Chatterjee and many more, was released in 1989.

Bumba Da (Prosenjit) played a Police Officer.

Akrosh (1989) was a box office blockbuster. With music directed by R D Burman, there were five Bengali movie songs: Baje dhol tak dhina dhin, Nayane swapno, Deya neya mor tomar sathe, Charana dhuli chara, Oh police tomar.

Debashree Roy is one of the ex-wives of Prosenjit. He is currently married to actress Arpita Pal Chatterjee, and they have a son (future Bangla cinema hero ?) Trishanjit. Arpita had taken a long leave from acting after marrying Bumbada, but has just returned to cinema with Avik Mukherjee's upcoming film Ekti Tarar Khonje.
