2012 promises to be a musical treat for all of us. Come February 17, 2012, Fox Star India gives us Ekk Deewana Tha which promises to be one of the biggest musical of the year.
The fans have loved the music of Ekk Deewana Tha, composed by the Oscar Winner Musical Genius A.R Rahman. The melodious music has done justice to the beautiful lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar to give us songs which touches the heart and soul.
The track Hosanna can have a special mention here. With lyrics “Dil Hote Jo, Mere Seene Me do, Doosra Dil Bhi Main Tumhein Deta Todne Ko” The song has been widely accepted and loved by the fans. The track released on the Nokia OVI store has gone up the ranks and is currently at number 4 in the list.
Now that the music is already a super hit, we are waiting with anticipation to see Prateik and the beautiful debutant Amy in Ekk Deewana Tha.

The Theatrical trailer of the much awaited Ekk Deewana Tha, the Hindi remake of the Tamil movie Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya has been released by Fox star India.
The movie starring Prateik and Amy Jackson has been directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, his second venture in Bollywood. The music has been highly appreciated by the fans since Oscar wining maestro A.R Rahman has composed the music for the film. Gautham Menon has been all praises for the two actors, asserting that they are as good as Simbu and Trisha from the original.
The story revolves around an aspiring filmmaker from Mumbai, who falls in love with a woman from a strict orthodox Christian family.
Ekk Deewana Tha will be releasing on 17th February 2012.

Fox Star India has released the second poster of Ek Deewana Tha, the much awaited Hindi remake of the Tamil movie Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, on YouTube.
The move starring Prateik and Amy Jackson has music composed by the Oscar winner maestro A.R Rahman.
Gautham Menon has praised the actors saying they are as good as Simbu and Trisha from the original. The movie is all set to hit theaters in January 2012.

Sachin is a regular guy-22 year old engineering graduate from a middle class family in Mumbai who is in love with the world of cinema. As a struggler in the film industry-where his long days are filled with waiting and then some more waiting, surviving on his father’s pocket money and desperately trying to make an entry into any of the main film camps-there is nothing that makes each day worth looking forward to.
And that’s when he sees Jessie, and it is love at first sight for him. Jessie is beautiful, elegant, smart and classy. But Jessie is not that simple. Jessie belongs to an orthodox Malayali Christian family where watching movies, partying or falling in love are completely taboo.
While Sachin battles with the idea of someone like Jessie and her family living in 21st century, modern Mumbai-he finds himself increasingly drawn to her. Jessie, for her part, tries to forge a friendship between them-believing that cloaking their feelings under the umbrella of friendship would save them heartache, tears and a full blown family drama.

The cast of Ek Deewana Tha, Prateik and Amy Jackson have joined hands to support the cause of Bone Marrow donation.
To show their support for their cause, the stars on January 9, 2012, have inaugurated a registration camp organized by Drishti, the Youth Management festival of Narsee Monjee Management College, in association with Being Human and Marrow Donor Registry India. Amy Jackson said on the micro blogging site twitter, “At NM College to support DRISHTI and BEING HUMAN for their Registering Camp for Bone Marrow!! Such a good cause”!
The Stars have also donated blood under the supervision of experienced doctors from Tata Memorial Hospital. Emphasizing on the importance of blood donation in this camp, Prateik tweeted, “Donating 10ml or 2 teaspoons of blood could potentially add 20+ years to a Cancer patients’ life...Small activity 2day can mean a LIFE 2moro”. To encourage fans to be a part of this just cause, Amy tweeted, “DRISHTI rocks! Just become a blood donor with TATA Memorial Hospital...Donated blood today. Make sure you do the same and make a difference!
The pair has surely taken up a just cause to help the society. Let us all hope that their followers join in their Endeavour and make the camp a successful one. Ekk Deewana Tha releases on February 17, 2012. After all their efforts for the registration camp, let us hope that their movie is a success in the Box Office.

Ekk Deewana Tha launched its music launch today against the glorious backdrop of the Taj Mahal. The setting was as perfect as the stars of the event.
Musical genius A R Rahman, who composed the music, appeared on stage looking his usual humble self in a black shirt and a grey overcoat. Director, Gautam Vasudev Menon spoke about how enchanted he was with the Tamil version of the movie and how he wished to share the magic with Ek Deewana Tha. The focus of course was on the beautiful Amy Jackson, who looked ravishing in a black and beige salwaar kameez and Prateik Babbar who looked svelte in a black coat and a kurta.
Enthralling numbers form the movie like Hosanna, Sharminda Hoon and Kya Hai Mohabbat were performed at the launch which captivated the audience.
Fox Star India is running a contest for ‘Ek Deewana Tha’, where they are asking fans to share their Deewanapan and Love Pictures for the end credits of the movie.
The Contest is being run across social properties of Ek Deewana Tha, including on social media giant ‘Facebook’.
Fans have to submit first love/Deewanapan/meeting stories or send in their love pictures to [email protected]
One lucky Deewanapan story and all the love pictures by Fans will be featured in the end credits of the movie.

Critically acclaimed Director, Gautham Vasudev Menon, recently revealed that the screenplay of Ekk Deewana Tha was developed around the music that Oscar winner AR Rahman composed for it.
“I had the story and screenplay ready. It’s my first film with Rahman and he was keen to give the music and actually gave more songs than the film required."
"Listening to the songs, I built a fresh screenplay around them,” says Menon.
Spotted at a recent music fest in the city, the director revealed, "Ekk Deewana Tha will have a surprise".
Prateik the star of Ekk Deewana Tha has turned out to be quite the twitter specialist.
Lately, he’s been highly active on the micro-blogging site twitter, sending regular updates for his fans. Fans have been getting a lot of information from the star himself on the activities of the Ekk Deewana Tha team. The inauguration of the Registration for the Bone marrow Donation camp received a huge response thanks to the Prateik’s regular tweets through which he updated his fans on the minute details of the camp and the cause.
The different aspects of the movie like the trailer launch, the movie tracks etc. have received more importance from the audience with Prateik tweeting about each and every element of the movie. His tweet, “humming HOSANNA as I prepare for a busy Monday... Makes it so easy”, has definitely made a number of his followers hit the ‘Hosanna’ play button a lot more times.

The Ekk Deewana Tha music was launched on December 21, 2011 against the backdrop of the magnificent Taj Mahal. Composed by musical maestro A.R Rahman, and penned by Javed Akhtar, the music for Ekk Deewana Tha has received rave reviews from the fans.
The magic created by the music of Ekk Deewana Tha has made the fans wait with anticipation for the CD launch. With the CD launch, the fans will now be able to take magic home.
Ekk Deewana Tha the musical, starring Prateik and the beautiful Amy Jackson, will release on February 17, 2012. Until that time, the fans can be contended with the magical music of Ekk Deewana Tha by getting a copy of the music CD.
The music of ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’, an A. R Rahman and Javed Akhtar musical starring Prateik and British model-turned-actor Amy Jackson will be released on 21st December 2011.

A very cost effective way for movie promotion, the idea was first used by Yash Raj for the promotion of their movie Ek Tha Tiger. Fox Star India has used it as well, to their advantage, for the promotion of their movie Ek Deewana Tha.
Ek Deewana Tha (EDT) to be released on January 13, 2011 has released two digital posters till date. EDT’s digital outreach partner EveryMedia, has been played a prominent part in the creation of these posters. The posters created a lot of hype in the entertainment industry.
The first poster generated a viewership of 23,113. The very first day, around 5397 people watched it on YouTube.
And it does not end with the posters. EveryMedia has also created a lot of visibility for the movie form the digital front, especially through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. With still a month to go, for the movie release, we are still waiting to see what other innovative things the agency does to make the movie a marketing success.

The Movie ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’ has been in the lime light for a number of reasons. A.R Rahman definitely is one of the reasons for the movie being a discussion topic among the fans. Today, Fox Star India has given the fans another reason to look forward to the release of the movie, after they released the track ‘Kya Hai Mohabbat’ on the official YouTube channel.
‘Kya Hai Mohabbat’ is special for many reasons. Not only does the song create magic with the marriage between Rahman’s music and Javed Akhtar’s lyrics but the movie is also a collage of the beautiful moments spent between Jessie and Sachin. To top it off, Rahman and Akhtar Ji have been prominently featured in the video. The collage of Sachin and Jessie in their moments runs in the background. Rahman has also lent his voice to the song which is sure to get the fans spell bound.
However, this video has also started discussions of the possibility of Rahman featuring in the movie. Speculations to this question will be put to rest, only after the movie is out. Ekk Deewana Tha will be released on February 17, 2012, under the Fox Star India banner.
